PUMPKIN HOLLOW, OK - More than forty local residents ranging from the age of one to sixty participated in a clean-up day for the Pumpkin Hollow community earlier this week. Starting at Briggs Elementary School, the group worked their way two and a half miles down Oakdale road, picking up 150 bags of trash along the way. The Cherokee Nation Community Services group provided the truck for the trash pick-up and the Housing Authority of the Cherokee Nation provided the bags for the trash pick-up.

“The community cleanup was a success,” said Linda Buckhorn, a resident organization coordinator for the HACN. “We want to keep our community clean and teach the children to keep the community clean. Residents from the community have participated in the pre-earth day cleanup for years.”
At the end of the two and a half mile trek, everyone was treated to a big pizza party.
