TAHLEQUAH, OK - Talking Leaves Job Corp female students and staff attended an assembly to celebrate Women’s History Month. Special guest speakers included Cherokee Nation Tribal Councilwomen Dorothy Jean McIntosh and Stephanie Wickliffe-Shepherd.

Councilwoman McIntosh spoke about the different jobs she has held, including her career at Cities Service Oil Company, and how young women must set goals for themselves. Councilwoman Wickliffe-Shepherd reflected upon historical figures in history that helped pave the way for women today. Both women have made history in their respective districts.
After the assembly both Dorothy and Stephanie met briefly with students from their districts. The Councilwomen and faculty members were treated to a special meal created by Talking Leaves culinary arts department.
