TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma's Tribal Council will meet in a special session on Monday, September 25, 2000 at 4:00 p.m. in the council chambers at the W.W. Keeler Tribal Complex. Principal Chief Chad Smith called the meeting to consider a budget before the beginning of the new fiscal year on October 1."The council showed outstanding leadership last year by passing a budget on time," Smith said. "It was the first on-time budget in the previous four years. We are on track to maintain that strong financial management with the passage of this budget on time."
Other items on the agenda include modifications to the FY 2000 budget and, at the request of the council, a vote on appropriations of motor fuel tax money for the Miller Cemetery, Piney Cut Through and Possum Hollow roads projects that have been previously discussed in committee.
