TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Nation, Oklahoma is holding a logo design contest in order to select a piece of artwork to be used on the 49th Cherokee National Holiday official promotional items. This contest is to recognize artists presenting the best idea for a Holiday logo design. The theme for the 49th Cherokee National Holiday is "Celebrating the Seven Clans". The winning artist will receive $300.Entry is open to all artists of Native American descent. The artist must have a CDIB card. Entries must be delivered to the Cherokee Nation Holiday Office by no later than 4:00 p.m. on December 29. Artists are asked to submit only one entry each. Each entry must be simple enough to be reproduced onto clothing items such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, and caps.
The Cherokee Nation reserves the right to photograph and reproduce any work submitted to the competition for publicity or permanent file purposes and also the right to reject all artwork entered to be used for the official symbol of the 49th annual Cherokee National Holiday.
