Cherokee Heritage Center Announces Winners
"Of Cherokee Homecoming Art Show and Sale"

TAHLEQUAH OK - The Cherokee Heritage Center announced the winner of the Cherokee Homecoming Art Show and Sale. Members of the Cherokee Nation, Oklahoma, United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians of Oklahoma, and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians of North Carolina competed for $5,000 in prize money. The art exhibit and sale is made possible through generous donations from the Oklahoma Arts Council and Texaco.

The Cherokee Homecoming Art Show and Sale will continue to hang through December 31, 2000.

"There are still several excellent pieces of art available for purchase," said Tom Mooney, one of the show’s organizers. "I invite everyone to come see the art exhibition." A list of the works and selected photographs may be found on the Cherokee Heritage Center web site.
