TAHLEQUAH, OK - The Cherokee Nation will make sure that it’s tribal members have a ride to the polls on Election Day. Community members who need a ride to vote can call the Cherokee Nation, phone: 456-0671 (extension 2936).

"I urge Cherokee community groups, church groups and families to remember to vote on November 7," said Chad Smith, Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation. "Any of these groups or individuals who need help getting to the polls should call us."

In an effort to increase voter participation, the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma has mailed out more than 50,000 letters to tribal members in northeastern Oklahoma, urging them to vote on Election Day.
