TAHLEQUAH, OK - Children trick-or-treating at the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma complex on Tuesday morning stacked sugary snacks into plastic pumpkins, pillowcases and their own chubby little cheeks, all before noon. Of course, you might expect kids from the Cherokee Nation’s Head Start and Early Head Start programs to get a head start on Halloween candy collecting.
Kids from Early Head Start Program dressed up for Halloween. Cherokee Nation employees brought candy from home to give to the dozens of trick-or-treaters chugging through the halls. Two toddlers dressed as Superman bracketed one bunch; another canine loving kid dressed as "Blue", the dog on the children’s show "Blue’s Clues." There were witches and princesses, a reluctant bumblebee and a sleeping little ladybug, all collecting candy and bringing smiles to the faces of Cherokee Nation employees.
