Dear Friend,Dana Tiger has Parkinson's disease. She is undergoing conventional treatment that will temporarily control the symptoms but will not halt the advance of the disease or it's accompanying symptoms. There is no known cure for Parkinson's disease. However, there is an experimental treatment similar to a bone marrow transplant that has shown great promise in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. This cutting edge treatment is quite expensive. Without financial support from her family and friends, Dana will be unable to take advantage of this new treatment.
When individuals or organizations fighting against injustice call Dana, she often helps by offering her clear sure voice, her time and her artwork. In Dana's time of need, we can do no less.
Please join Dana, her family and friends at a benefit reception on Saturday, February 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Amish Kitchen, located within the Oklahoma State University - College of Osteopathic Medicine at 1111 W. 17th Street, Tulsa. Each person attending the reception will be asked to make a minimum $100.00 dollar tax-deductible contribution. Those contibuting $100.00 or more will recieve a gift -- a limited edition print, signed and numbered by Dana, entitled "The Medicine Maker."
We would appreciate confirmation of your attendance and ask that you do so by mailing your check or money order payable to The Arts Foundation in care of Wilma Mankiller, P.O. Box 308, Park Hill, Oklahoma, 74451. If you cannot attend the reception but wish to make a contribution, we would greatly appreciate receiving your check or money order at the above address. If you would like "The Medicine Maker" mailed to you, please enclose an extra $10.00 for postage.
From February 18th-20th, Dana will be exhibing her art at the Tulsa Indian Arts Festival, Greenwood Cultural Center, 322 N. Greenwood, Tulsa. If you need directions to the Center, please return this and I will send them back to you.
If you have any questions please call Green Corn Gallery on their toll-free number 1-877-473-2676.
Thank you so much for considering this request.
Sincerely,
/S/ Wilma P. Mankiller
