Once again, The Tahlequah Times-Journal newspaper boxes have been opened and large quantities of the publication have been stolen. The thefts always occur when the Times Journal prints investigative reports about the activities of Pat Ragsdale or former Cherokee Chiefs Ross Swimmer and Wilma Mankiller. The Tahlequah Times-Journal is not suggesting that the three individuals named have had anything whatsoever to do with the thefts, we just find it a curious circumstance. In fact, we would appreciate anyone interested in finding the perpetrators to document the stealing with a photograph or video tape of the crime, afterall, even though single issues of our newspaper only cost 25 cents each, removing 50 or more from multiple boxes without paying for them is still theft.
For our readers who were perhaps deprived of the information reported in the stolen issues, we are reprinting those stories in this edition beginning on page 5. The Times Journal will also soon have a website with access to these same investigative reports.
