Letter From The Miley Family

Those gifts that are given through the kindness of your heart are the best gifts that you can give. Those individuals that receive your gifts are more than thankful; they are blessed to have met an angel of mercy here on earth. This letter is for those individuals that sacrificed their time and energy to help my family for the past two months to try and buy this home. We were supposed to close on our new home around October 31st when I heard of the new programs offered by Cherokee Nation Housing Authority. I applied for the Mortgage Buy Down Program and was approved. I went through the process of getting all of my paperwork handed in, attending the class, and waiting for the environmental scan. Since this was a new program there were a few rocky roads in the process, mainly the fact that I fell in love with a native rock home that was built in the late 40’s. This meant that the paint around the windows needed to be scrapped off, sanded, and repainted. This is where hard work and determination takes hold.
At first, it was my in-laws, my daughter, and me working on the house. We started on the inside while the weather was a little too cold to work outside. At first it was real slow and the time my contract with the sellers was drawing close I was panicking with only the handful of people we had it was taking too long. Then my prayers was answered, my friends came to help with their family in tow. There are many people I would like to thank for all of their help and words of encouragement. You have renewed my faith in the Christmas Spirit and given me that most precious gift that can be given…from your heart to mine. Now from my heart to yours: God Bless you all that have helped us get our new home.

Matt Brassfield & StaffFor my daughter Courtney Osborne: I couldn’t have done any of this without all of your hard work. Thank you for sticking by my side until the last coat of paint went on the walls. (Even when you were running a fever... you were there for me. I love you baby. I wished I could pay you back.)
For my husband and best friend: Thank you for the moral support and lending an ear while I vented frustration and whining cause things wasn’t going my way. Thank you for being there for me when I needed you the most.
If I had the money to pay you all for your hard work and effort I would in a heartbeat, but since I can’t, all I have to offer is my gratitude and prayers that you may have the best holiday ever!
The Greatest Gift ever given is from the heart. You all have a heart of gold!
Many thanks to Chad Smith and the Cherokee Nation’s vision for the future of all Native Americans to live the American Dream.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
