TAHLEQUAH, OK - Employees and patrons of Cherokee Nation Enterprises (CNE) recently worked together to provide Christmas cheer for needy children. From November 10 to December 10, CNE’s three casinos in Roland, Siloam Springs and Catoosa offered a 50/50 Charity Game for patrons to play.Patrons split half of their winnings in the game with the Cherokee Nation Angel Tree Project and raised $20,415 to provide clothing and toys for children.
The Cherokee Nation Angel Tree program served more than 400 children this holiday season. Accepting the check from CNE Director of Gaming James Starr, far left, and CNE Chief Executive Officer Jerry Holderby were Indian Child Welfare Specialists Shannon Chesser and Labrandia Lemley, Cherokee Nation Special Assistant Evelyn Conley, Indian Child Welfare Program Manager Hettie Charboneau and Cherokee First Volunteer Coordinator Mary Mead.
