Terrell starts with strong critical remarks about "that other paper" (Muskogee Phoenix). He accuses them of not practicing responsible journalism. Terrell said, "If negative journalism and obvious hatred toward the Cherokee chief is any indication, it appears to be the ideology of that other newspaper to rarely allow a day to pass without printing a derogatory article or editorial about the Cherokees."He continued..."It is incumbent upon all Cherokee -- and indeed all Indians -- to stick together and not let jealously, hatred, prejudice and devious schemes against them be a catalyst that turns Indians against Indians. That could promulgate public opinion to a point that Congress deems it necessary to abandon treaties and future negotiations with the tribes. Our future as a sovereign national self-governance depend upon it."
Terrell fails to mentions that all the legitimate news papers in the country and in Oklahoma are printing the facts and, if his fearless leader would turn himself in (Byrd has (4) warrants out for his arrest) maybe we could begin to restore the integrity of the Cherokee Nation. If Terrell was that concerned about our sovereignty he would have never broken our laws by participating in the conspiracy to overthrow our constitutional government or allowed Byrd and his staff to totally and carelessly disregard accountability for the federal and tribal funds that have led to the heart of this crisis and has grabbed the attention of congress and the taxpayers... maybe he should think about that for a moment.
He carries on in defense of the tribe's option of "taking over" the housing authority. He says the takeover is not only exercising its responsibility and obligation but is complying with federal law and with provisions of the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-determination Act of 1996.
Terrell arguing on behalf of complying with federal law is like Hitler saying he does not believe in the genocide of ethic groups because it is against the law.
He carries on an on in a very lengthy article explaining in detail why this is such a justified and good move.
I don't know about the rest of world, but to me this is the oddest 180 degree turn seen in months from the Byrd and cohorts circle of "color of law", corrupted club members.
There is obviously a whole lot that Terrell is not telling us, and it what he is "not" telling us is what makes this suspicious. Since time and time again, Terrell and the rest of his Byrdettes have lied, held secret meetings, conspired to overthrow our government, and have broken our laws, disregarded our policy, it is real hard to buy their sudden interest in taking over the housing authority. The Housing Authority Director, Joel Thompson, (currently under FBI investigation) helped several of these byrdettes with their campaigns, and all this time we never heard a peep or "chirp" from them regarding the urgent need to take over their buddy's housing authority. Why now? What is really going on?
I heard that perhaps it has something to do with some people that were promised big chunks of housing authority funds under their buddy Joel, and now they have to make sure that no one else gets control of those funds, because their deals would be off, and that might shake up the power base of control for the Byrd bunch.
It is very easy to be suspicious of the motives involved when it comes to Byrd and his councilors, since we have observed the lengths they will go to serve their own and their associates needs.
While Terrell goes into all the various principles of the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-determination Act of 1996, and it is all very factual and correct, the point again is Why now! What is the sudden urgency? Do they have plan whipped up since it looks like their boy Joel Thompson is losing control over their, and they would not want some kind of honest, ethical, goodie two-shoe law abiding new director put in charge? Do they think they might just not get the same "good ole boy" cooperation from a new director that hasn't been tried and tested for what it would take to buy out his loyalty to the boys?
Sorry, words mean nothing to this bunch, but their actions have spoken loud and clear, and it would just not be reasonable to assume that their sudden urgent move to take over the housing authority and the IHS has something to do with a lot of money that they want total control over.
Terrell is the one who insulted our JAT justice Birdwell, calling him a "jerk"for dare mentioning that Byrd's goons defaced Birdwell's (2) Silver Stars and (1) Purple Heart citations taken off the wall in Birdwell's office by Terrell's buddies, Byrd's goons, when Byrd illegally ordered them to take over the courthouse in an illegal pre-dawn raid on June 20th.
Remember, Terrell was not elected. He took the place of one of the elected CN Councilor who passed away during the first year of his term. Terrell was promoted to the council by Byrd and they voted to have Terrell fill the vacant seat. He is a good Byrd soldier, but he will never be a leader for the Cherokee people he is supposed to represent.
Terrell's comments tell the whole story here... these morons are truly the most ludicrous excuses for human beings that I have ever seen. Why they are allowed to stay in office one day is beyond comprehension.
