January 30th 2000 + 1 years Today I would teach how to say the phrases, "I feel good and I feel bad." I am also going to start giving you the first person which is (I), second person (you) and third person (he, she or it). By doing this, not only are we expanding your vocabulary but we are also becoming aware, in small doses, of the complexity of the Cherokee language. I feel good. O-s-da a-gwa-da-nv-ta Formal O-s-d a-gwa-da-n-ta Conversational You feel good. O-s-da tsa-da-nv-ta Formal O-s-d tsa-da-n-ta Conversational He feels good. O-s-da u-da-nv-ta Formal O-s-d u-da-n-ta Conversational Note: You may also substitute (o-si) for (o-s-da) because they mean the same thing. I feel bad. U-yo-i a-gwa-da-nv-ta Formal U-yo a-gwa-da-n-ta Conversational You feel bad. U-yo-i tsa-da-nv-ta Formal U-yo tsa-da-n-ta Conversational He feels bad. U-yo-i u-da-nv-ta Formal U-yo u-da-n-ta Conversational As an exercise, when someone asks, "How are you doing?" answer in Cherokee saying (O-s-d a-gwa-da-n-ta). Be sure to let the tone of your voice reflect your mood. Sometimes when I answer people they will understand me just by the way I am say it. Also, if you are Cherokee, be proud of your language and use every chance you get. *For new members-If you have just started receiving lessons you can go to http://www.listbot.com, click List Subscribers and enter your member information, click (View List Archives), click (Cherokee Language Lessons) and choose the back lesson that you need. .
