This is a continuation of yesterday's lesson. Before we started doing the sound files we did cover how you make statements into questions. Here is a quick review. There are two different question markers that you can use to make statements into question. One is (tsu) and the other is (s-go). You really need to know both, but you will use one more than the other with you personal vocabulary. These question markers always go at the end of a statement. We will turn the statement "I am tired" into the question "Am I tired"? I am tired. Da-gi-ya-we-ga Formal Da-gi-ya-we-g Conversational Am I tired? Da-gi-ya-we-ga + (s-go) Formal Da-gi-ya-we-ga-s-g Conversational Am I tired? Da-gi-ya-we-ga-(tsu) Things to remember: I know this sounds like a ludicrous statement, but it will help us learn how to make questions. I usually use the first form (s-go) to make my questions and this really is personal preference. I think it just sounds better. You will hardly ever hear (s-go) spoken in the formal form. There is no conversational form for the second variation (tsu). We will be focusing on questions in our next lessons. *For new members-If you have just started receiving lessons you can go to http://www.listbot.com, click List Subscribers and enter your member information, click (View List Archives), click (Cherokee Language Lessons) and choose the back lesson that you need. ______________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, write to cwylanguage-unsubscribe@listbot.com .
